H2S Safety Services

Hydrogen Sulfide is a highly toxic hazard present on many work sites. From H2S safety supervisors to H2S training, DXP offers highly trained personnel along with the latest protective equipment and services to protect workers from the dangers posed by this toxic gas.

Air Trailers

DXP maintains a large fleet of air trailers that provide safe breathable air to workers in IDLH atmospheres. The nominal capacity of each trailer is 2,640 ft3 of breathing air meeting or exceeding CGA Grade D requirements allowing for up to a total of 27 hours of breathable air. DXP Air Trailers are mobile and are easily moved around the work site.

Breathing Air Equipment

DXP maintains a large inventory of SCBA, SAR, and auxiliary equipment for short and long-term rental needs. All breathing air meets or exceeds the minimum requirements for CGA Grade D breathing air. 

Safety Supervisors & Consultants

DXP’s safety supervisors and consultants (HSE professionals), will evaluate and monitor safety hazards and control strategies on behalf of our client during operations. Our HSE professionals are confident in their ability to ensure compliance with client safety rules, policies, programs, as well as all governmental regulations and industry best practices. These services can include providing onsite health and safety support by observing work practices, conducting site safety audits and providing comprehensive reports and recommendations to equip clients with the tools required to keep their workers safe and minimize downtime.

Safety Technicians

DXP’s Safety Technicians personnel are responsible for the protection of all workers under their area of assignment. Duties include, but are not limited to: fire watch, bottle watch, rescue watch, safety watch, permit coordination and air quality monitoring. Additionally, our safety Technicians are responsible for the care and maintenance of all DXP supplied safety equipment on a site.

Confined Space Attendant

Confined spaces present a multitude of dangerous realities such as chemical, atmospheric, and psychological hazards that can endanger personnel and affect operations. DXP’s confined space attendants are trained and equipped to manage such hazards, ensuring the safety of workers before, during, and after the confined space entry.

Emergency Shower & Eyewash Services

DXP emergency shower & eyewash services provide emergency treatment for workers that come into physical contact with hazardous or corrosive materials. With specifications that meet ANSI Standard Z358.1, DXP can ensure workers are protected in case of emergencies. Shower trailers are also available that meet the requirements for Class 1, Division 2 areas.

Industrial Hygiene

DXP offers industrial hygiene services that are designed to measure chemical and physical hazards at the work-site. Services include: NORM monitoring, noise testing, and chemical exposure monitoring.

Safety Training

From single workers to large corporate programs, DXP’s Safety Training Programs can be scaled to fit any client’s needs. A wide range of courses are offered and can be delivered at the local DXP facility or at the client’s facility. Course options include: a full line of training DVD’s, interactive CD’s, online safety courses and instructor-led classroom training.

Breathing Apparatus Servicing

DXP is an authorized service center with certified technicians that can service 3M Scott, and MSA breathing apparatus. Hydro testing of breathing air cylinders is also available at select locations.

Gas Detection

DXP offers a full line of gas detection to monitor for toxic and noxious gases as well as oxygen deficient and explosive atmospheres. With equipment ranging from personal and portable monitors to fixed systems with optional real-time satellite GPS and data-logging capabilities, DXP has the equipment to provide the protection your workers require.

Fire Extinguisher Services

DXP Fire Extinguisher Services can perform the repair, recertification, and maintenance of all sizes of portable fire extinguishers – both stored pressure and cartridge operated. All DXP Fire Extinguisher Technicians are certified and meet the requirements of NFPA 10 as well as any applicable State requirements.

High Angle/Rope Rescue

DXP’s high angle rescue teams have the critical training and experience to properly handle the ropes, anchoring, belaying, lowering, and hauling systems that come with high angle rescue operations. High angle rescue personnel and equipment can be pre-staged where necessary to accommodate locations where a high angle rescue may become a necessity.

Confined Space Rescue

Hightly trained and specialized rescue is a necessity should an emergency occur in a confined space; especially if hazards such as oxygen deficiencies, toxic gases, and explosive atmospheres are present. DXP’s confined space rescue teams are fully trained and equipped to manage any such emergencies.

Cooling/Heating Trailers

In areas of extreme ambient air temperatures, heat takes a toll on workers. DXP has constructed portable trailers with 36” evaporative cooling fans and an on-board 200 gallon water tank to provide workers with relief from the debilitating effects of high ambient temperature environments. DXP cooling units can be deployed utilizing a self-contained power supply with auxiliary fuel tank or can be connected to an existing on-site 120V power outlet.

Industrial Medical Services

IIn high activity, high-risk environments additional protection may be required in case of an incident. DXP industrial medical services can provide highly trained medical responders that will provide immediate on-site care ranging from basic first aid to advanced life support. DXP medical personnel can also provide ancillary services such as on-site drug testing and PFT’s (Pulmonary Function Testing).

Respiratory Fit Testing

Workers that are required to use a respirator are also required to undergo a respirator fit test specific to the style of respirator they are using. DXP provides quantitative fit testing services that can be performed on-site in 5-10 minutes. MEQ’s (Medical Evaluation Questionnaire) are also available in a secure, online format.
