2023 DXP Bike MS 150 Wrap Up

DXP is proud and honored to have sponsored the 2023 DXP Bike MS 150 Team for the 8th year to bring awareness and aid in ending MS! Bike MS 150 entailed riding 75 miles each day on April 29th & April 30th from Houston/Austin, TX, to Texas A&M University in College Station, TX.

Congratulations to Michael Kelly, Tracy McMillin, Shawn McMillin, Jack Bates, Jack Barrett, Caroline Barrett, Brennan LaHue, Jackie Allen, James Kelly, Alex Samouse, Mark Nail, Sean Kasperitis, and Mike Walker for participating and completing this year’s Bike MS 150.

The DXP Cycling Team raised $32,476.00 to help end MS! This included generous donations from our DXPeople, $1,471.00 from the waffle fundraiser, and $10,000.00 on behalf of DXP. Thank you to everyone who donated to individual riders to raise funds for this cause. A few of our riders shared their experience with us below!

“2023 was challenging with substantial headwinds and considerable temperature swings. Suffering for two days is a small price to pay to help END MS and assist those that suffer from MS on a daily basis. I also thoroughly enjoyed sharing this experience with our new riders and look forward to next year. I would also like to pay my sincerest gratitude to Mike Walker, Tracy McMillin, Shawn McMillin, James Kelly, and Jack Bates for packing up the LaGrange tent prior to riding on Sunday, as this is normally performed by volunteers. They put in a lot of work” – Team Captain Michael Kelly (Account Manager/Brittmoore-Houston, TX)

“Bike MS 2023 was a memorable and fulfilling experience for this newbie. The wind was a punishing 30 mph sustained headwind all of day 1. It made day 2 so easy I could do it with my eyes closed. I did not, though. It was extra special to ride with my brother, one of our customers, and fellow DXP employees. Thanks to DXP for supporting Bike MS, our team, and providing some sweet Sunday jerseys. Thanks to our team captain, Michael Kelly, for his leadership and for making it a really fun experience. I look forward to participating again next year.” – Tracy McMillin (Account Manager/Hose Division/Pasadena, TX)

“Battling the hurricane headwinds, hills, and crazy drivers on Saturday was worth it to cross the finish line with my amazing daughter Caroline.” – Jack Barrett (Project Manager/Power Machinery-Houston, TX)

The impact of Bike MS extends beyond just raising funds for MS research and support. Bike MS events bring together individuals affected by MS, their families and friends, and the broader community to raise awareness about the disease and the need for a cure. Great job to our DXPeople for changing the world for people with MS, one mile at a time!
